"The guide dog as a perfect rehabilitation mean for a vision impaired person".
I am blind for over twenty years and I am moving a lot in the city due to my professional activities. Until not long ago I was walking with a cane only, from time to time having collisions, i.e. running into various obstacles, like garbage cans, poles, traffic signs, advertisements. Two or three times I happened to fall in a ditch and it was very painful.
Two months ago everything changed when I got from the foundation Labrador - Pies Przewodnik the lab Argo. Argo is a perfectly trained guide dog. Since I received him, I am feeling more secure when walking and I do not meet such situations as before. The dog helps me to get on a bus, shows stairs, doors and kerbs. While leading me, he avoids all obstacles appearing on our route. Argo is not only a guide dog, he is also a great friend. He senses very well my mood.
It should also be mentioned that to have such a dog is not only a pleasure, but also a responsibility. The same care is to be taken of the guide dog as of your own child. The dog has to be well to work properly. It is very important for the blind person and the dog to understand each other. Argo is the first dog in my life so I had to work hard to trust him absolutely. I am very happy to have Argo and I wouldn’t change him for any regular rehabilitation equipment"
