About the instructors
There are five instructors working for the Foundations:
- Magdalena Nowicka - Poznań
- Paweł Zieliński - Poznań
- Gabriela Prus - Łódź
- Ewa Podgórni - Poznań
- Wioleta Gawłowska (since Feb. 2005) – Szczecin
All of them are experienced in training and rising different service dogs.
The instructors are taking care of the dogs living with puppy risers and, particularly, assist in their upbringing and training.
When the 18 months old dogs leave their puppy risers, the instructors take over their training in accordance with the needs of future users. To this time the instructors will pass additional training in orientation mobility and at the Slovac Guide Dog School – Vicvikova Skola Pre Vodiacich Psov UNSS
Thanks to the kind support of Slovak school instructors, we can benefit from their rich experience in guide dogs training.
Instructor Ivana Balazowa is helpful in solving all problems met during the training.In February 2004 she visited Poznań and Łódź and assessed our first dogs Nil and Nelson in Poznań and Jantar in Łódź.She was assessing their temperament, obedience and behaviour in various situations.
In Poznań Nil and Nelson were tested at the central train station. Under the care of volunteers the dogs were boarding a train and bus, walked on platforms and in underground passages, took the elevators.
In Łódź Jantar was assessed for his temperament, obedience and city behaviour (he is few months younger than the dogs in Poznań).
The Instructors received special ID`s proving their work for the Foundation.
